The video begins with a “solved” Rubik’s cube: the grid of nine squares are aligned to present a coherent photographic self-portrait on each side of the cube. Progressively my hands begin to clumsily deconstruct these images in an endless turning of the cubes, reflecting one’s own fluid incapacity to solve an expected physical presentation or meet particular gender representation expectations.
